How much time it takes to complete Mark15 -To the beginners!
My experiences, to your success.
How much time it takes to complete mark-15 of Neog camp? How much time it takes to go from level 0 to level 1? Get all your answers here๐
I started my portfolio on 1st sept. I knew about the camp from linkedin and ofcourse, loved the concept. I made my first CLI app. It took 5 hours. just to figure out things. i know the concept here is so easy. but i first attended the live and then did the exercises. so it was alot of time-taking work.
If you want to make this fast , you can code with live tanay simultaneously. But the 5 hour method will give you way more happiness and satisfaction. And at the end, coding is more about functionalities and satisfaction.
Extra Tip: The first two exercises are very easy. Aim to complete both of the exercises in one day if you can!
MARK-3 The Website This is a simple html css website. it aims to make you understand the simple git part.
Extra Tip: If you want to make this super smart way, have a look on submission checklist. This will help you complete the portfolio the smart way! and bonus you won't miss the important part.
Mark-4-- The portfolio Here we really start making the structure of the portfolio. you have to design the way you like and add all the projects here. you have to try out css part. This is the most fun and time taking thing. it took me around one day. (I am so slow!) Link to my Portfolio
Mark 5 -- The blog You need to make your own blog page linked to you portfolio. I took one complete day for this which was not needed. Use dummy blogs for now, if you don't love writing so much.
In my later projects, i understood that for level 0 we need to focus on just the logic part. You will see i have left the style to minimum. but here my childish programmer was looking for beauty costing me a lot of time. I added pictures to my portfolio adding my own picture and styling it took more time. if you want to make this portfolio fast, just do the needed things and leave the styling for "next time".
Mark 6--The javascript part
This part can be a little scary for beginners, because in the live part tanay have explained a lot of concepts. I had to watch the video thrice, still my api here was not working.
Extra Tip : If you are stuck somewhere, Discord is very helpful. But if you are like me and discord is still new for you, leave the project for later.(trust me on this) Never Stop. The first step to programming is not learning syntax or logic, its not giving up!
I repeat, In programming or in level 0. If you are stuck, ASK for help. Even if you are stuck , move forward leave that part for later.
i left this js part for later and moved to the react js part. I thought i was doing wrong , i wanted to complete the js part. But the not giving up thing, remained.
Mark 7
You can clearly see, how weak this section is. I just did the logic part. It took me 2 days to overcome this. (I still don't know why) . I hope you don't get stuck here! Mark 8 - Emoji Detector This was fun, yet new. Until now i was coding in a familiar environment but for this exercise i used codesandbox. Its a simple app using reactjs to detect the emoji.
The next part was book recommendation system . You will enjoy this the most. Now I was known to all the smart hacks , i could code for 10 hours straight. so i could complete 2 projects in one day. This was fast and i felt like a hero here.๐
Mark 10 -- Cash - bill System Here we have to practice all the things learnt.
Extra Tip : Here I tried not to watch the live before trying the guide. If you want you can code with tanay, it will go superfast.
If you have less time, code with tanay. If you want more confidence, code with you!
Mark 11-- Lucky U This divides your birthdate with your lucky number,
Mark 12 -- Triangle
Mark 13 --Palindrome
Mark 14 -- Paisa Mangta apun ko!
To sum up everything, The time to complete this portfolio takes atmost 15 days, if you can complete 1 project a day. And if you are super smart, it may take just one day. But the point here is NOT time. Its building logic. Its building will power. Its loving the code. Trust me, give this thing the time it requires. It will pay you later in the form of experiences. Happy coding!
To your Success, Cheers!
